Super Eagles' captain, Vincent Enyeama had only words of praise and thanks for the Cross River state governor, Sen. Liyel Imoke after papers to their land promised after winning the AFCON 2013 was handed to the team. The property are situated in Calabar's choice areas and the state commissioner for Sports urged the players to build and live in the city. NFF president Aminu Maigari delivered the papers to team director, Dayo Enebi who is forwarding same to the players.

Meanwhile, team officials have reminded Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, of the $1 million pledge he made to the team, which is yet to be redeemed. “We understand his busy schedule, we are only asking his aides to help remind him,” Enyeama, was quoted as saying on the team’s behalf. Also yet to redeem his pledge to the team, is Chief Tony Elumelu, who promised the team $500,000, after their victory at AFCON 2013.
