The Nigeria Communications Commission said three telecommunication operators in Nigeria have been fined a sum not less than six hundred and forty seven million naira. The amount was penalty for poor services between July 2013 and January 2014.
Airtel and MTN paid N185m each while Glo paid a measly N227,500. They were given a March 7, 2014 deadline and they were to pay an extra N2.5m per day if they did not meet it. They failed tests in Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR) and Drop Call Rate (DCR). What do you make of the fines? Should they refund subscribers?
