The National Emergency Management Agency has said that the deadly Boko Haram sect has displaced over 250,000 Nigerians between January and March 2014. This figure which is huge is the official number as there are lots of people still unaccounted for. The agency made the disclosure at an event seeking humanitarian aid for the displaced victims in North East Nigeria.
The Office Coordinator of the UN Humanitarian Office then said the UN will spend about $75 million to help people in the troubled region. The Red Cross also made a pledge to do all possible to help. How can we guarantee the aid money won't disappear like the missing $20billion when it comes?
