The Board of the Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense, Prisons and Fire Service has said that the Minister of Interior did not consult them before organizing the ill fated recruitment which claimed the lives of about 12 people. A commissioner on the board Mr. S. D. Tapgun stated this before a house committee conducting inquiries into the deadly exercise.
"Only the Interior Minister and the consultant he engaged for the exercise can tell Nigerians exactly what happened. Even the Comptroller General of the service was not involved. There was no board resolution to recruit anybody" he said. Mr. Moro went all out to act with impunity then, or is he empowered to recruit without the board?
