Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has won the party primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This means he will be contesting the governorship polls of the state flying the party's flag in the August 2014 polls. Omisore who was once accused of killing former Attorney General of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ige has never hidden his desire to govern the state.
He polled 1128 out of 1186 votes to emerge. The other contestants were Olasunkanmi Akinlabi and Wole Oke, they had 45 and 5 votes respectively. Isiaka Adeleke had earlier boycotted the primaries due to alleged irregularities. The election was held under heavy security at GMT Hotels, Osogbo. Omisore called on all party members to work together to kick the APC out at the polls. Is Omisore the man to take Osun to the next level?
