FLAMIGOES THROUGH TO THE U17 WORLC CUP Q/FINALS

The National Female U17 team, the Flamingoes have booked their place in the quarter finals of the ongoing age grade World Cup in Costa Rica. The team beat their Chinese counterparts 2-1 in their first game and beat Colombia 2-1 as well to book a spot in the round of eight.

It is noteworthy that they have a game to spare in the group stage so this means the coach can rest some of the players for the last group game against Mexico. Angie Rodriguez put the Colombians ahead in the 3rd minute before Joy Bokiri's wonder free kick cancelled the lead out. Uchenna Kanu went on to score the winner in the 59th minute. Will the team make it past the quarter finals for the first time?
