Former Green Eagles captain and striker, Segun Odegbami has revealed that Keshi is one of the reasons he retired from football. 'Mathematical' as he was known in his playing days is an icon of Nigerian football and a legend as well. He was part of the team that won Nigeria her first Cup of Nations in 1980 on home soil.
He was part of the media roundtable organised by Tom Tom during the week. He recalled how a New Nigerian Bank of Benin full of youngsters like Keshi and Eguavoen humiliated Shooting Stars in Ibadan and scored 4 goals. He said that match made him realise it was time to retire.
