Over one hundred people were killed in separate attacks on villages in Sambuwa and Faskari local government areas of Katsina state. This happened as President Jonathan is on a state visit to the state. In what is fast becoming a norm in the Northern part of the country, coordinated bloodshed of innocent villagers is on the rise and Katsina is the latest casualty.
Eyewitness reports say the bandits who are cattle rustlers numbered about ninety and came on thirty motorcycles. Some were dressed in military uniforms and others in mufti. They killed the ward head of the village and other residents. President Jonathan has however directed the military to fish out those who carried out the act. He also directed NEMA to provide relief materials immediately. Is Katsina going the Borno way? We sincerely hope not.
