New Minister for Sports, Tamuno Danagogo has decried the situation whereby the available funds could not make considerable impact on sports in the country. He said what the ministry gets to uplift sports is nowhere near what's needed to take it to the next level. He made the submission while defending the N2 billion budget of the Nigeria Football Federation.

He said corporate bodies and wealthy Nigerians must stand up and be counted as regards sponsoring sports at all levels in the country. He however promised government's commitment to making sure the NFF had enough funds to prosecute the World Cup in June. It all boils down to money for things to work in Nigeria eh?
