A commission of inquiry raised to investigate the Ombatse killings of May 7,2013 has submitted its report. The report indicted the likes of Sen. Ewuga, Hon. Mesa, Hon. Haruna Kigbu and some others as financiers and sponsors of the ethnic militia and recommended immediate prosecution based on evidence available. The militia mainly claims to represent the Eggon people of Nassarawa state. It's members killed several policemen and agents on their way to dislodge the cult in Alakyo village.

What is surprising is how the financiers of a group that killed 64 policemen and 10 State Security service agents have not been prosecuted till now. The truth coming out in the form of a report from an independent panel makes a mockery of the law enforcement system in Nigeria. If the security forces can't conclusively investigate and prosecute the murderers of their colleagues, one is left to think what the fate of the Nigerian people are.
