Director of Defense Information, Chris Olukolade has warned against the indiscriminate use of the media to demoralize soldiers by politicians. He lamented the situation whereby unverified reports about the welfare of soldiers on operation were making the headlines. He said such was capable of demoralizing the soldiers who were giving their all to defend the country.
He especially had warned politicians who were milking the unfortunate security situation in the North East for political advantage to desist from such. He says the media should also try to balance their reportage as they were needed for the fight against the insurgents to succeed. He then thanked the media outlets who reported issues as they were.
