As the Ekiti governorship polls draw nearer, the incumbent governor, Kayode Fayemi has decided to return to the classroom. This he said he is doing out of his interest to mentor the younger ones as well as provide the right type of leadership. He will start teaching at the state-owned university in October 2014. Fayemi disclosed this to reporters in Ado-Ekiti on Friday.

He said his action would also put a stop to those saying he had plans to destroy the university through increased school fees. The governor also said he intended to reduce the current N50,000 fees payable per student to the barest minimum. What made you increase the fees initially Mr Governor? Good decision though, if you get elected.

A suit has been filed by thirteen aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in an Abuja high court. The suit prayed the judge to stop today's primary elections from holding. The aspirants led by Deji Ajayi said one of the contestants, Ayo Fayose was not properly readmitted into the party and therefore was not qualified.

They also said the whole primary process had been skewed in favour of Ayo Fayose and therefore they wouldn't participate in such a process. They insisted a consensus candidate was the best way to go in order to avoid rancour. Ayo Fayose has however come out to debunk the claims saying they were only scared of defeat because he is the people's choice. Why wait till now before filing a case though?
