General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Musa Amadu, has warned fans to lower their expectations from the Super Eagles, ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. This he believes will not put undue pressure on the team in Brazil. Expectations are soaring as the Nigerian team under Stephen Keshi looks likely to be a surprise revelation at the tournament.

He however added that the federation was eager to see the Eagles exceed the second round stage and advance to the quarter-finals for the first time ever. Amadu also stated that everything was being made possible, to ensure the team is well prepared for the tournament. “We are hopeful that they will give the best of representation to Nigeria because we are providing them the enabling environment to excel,” Amadu said. USA '94 and Atlanta' 96 National Team Coach of the Super Eagles, Clemens Westerhof has given his backing to the team's current Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi. He believes Keshi has all it takes to guide the Super Eagles to an unprecedented semi final finish at the World Cup in June. Westerhof took Nigeria to her first ever World Cup in 1994 with Keshi as captain.

"Nigeria can be among the last four at the World Cup and the time is now. I want Keshi to build the family into a team so that they will fight for each other on and off the pitch. Keep discipline high and select well, if he does this; the semi final is possible" he said.  Will Keshi brave the odds and do the African continent proud?

Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi has said he is not bothered by the perpetual cloud of sack hanging over his head with respect to the Eagles' performance in Brazil. Keshi has come under scrutiny for his team selection, playing methods and general decisions. Some have also called him rigid and stubborn amidst calls for him to invite Osaze Odemwingie and Ike Uche.

"This is life and not everybody has to like you, so who am I to worry about everybody loving me? As long as my family loves me, I'm doing my job well and I have good health, I'm okay" were Keshi's words when he spoke to the BBC. When pressed about rumours of a foreign technical adviser, he said he can't be bothered. Does Keshi need a foreign technical adviser? Do you see Keshi getting sacked?

Super Eagles and Stoke City striker, Peter Odemwingie has continued his blistering goalscoring form for Stoke City in the bashing of Aston Villa. Stoke City won the game by 4 goals to one. Odemwingie got Stoke's first goal which was the equaliser as Aston Villa had gone ahead through Benteke in the 5th minute.

Odemwingie slotted the ball through Brad Guzan's legs as he got on the end of a Peter Crouch knockdown. The floodgates opened thereafter as Peter Crouch, Steven Nzonzi and Geoff Cameron all scored to give Mark Hughes' men all 3 points. Peter is surely making a case for himself to be in Brazil. Would he make the final squad?

ODEMWINGIE APOLOGISES TO KESHI

Super Eagles and Stoke city forward, Osaze Odemwingie might have finally warmed his way back into the heart of Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi. A source close to Keshi claims Osaze has been remorseful and has begged for forgiveness. He also said Keshi is only human and was willing to welcome him back into the fold. His experience and goal scoring abilities would be welcome especially now that Musa and Moses are firing blanks.

It would be recalled that Odemwingie got frozen out of the Super Eagles in 2012 after being substituted for a poor display in a Nations cup match in Rwanda. He then took to twitter to blast Keshi and the technical crew. There have been calls from several quarters for Odemwingie's recall following his fine club form. Ike Uche still stays frozen out with Keshi claiming he lacks tactical awareness.  Is this a sincere apology or a ruse to work his way into the team for the world cup?
