Chief Coach of the National Female U-17 team, Bala Nkiyu has praised his hard fighting team for their victory against China. The Flamingoes pipped their Chinese counterparts who gave a spirited effort two goals to one. The Chinese team equalised before the Flamingoes got the lead and held on for the essential three points.

"We played well in the first half but the Chinese came fighting back in the second half. That is normal as they were already down. However, team work got us through to the end". Nigeria's goals were scored by Rasheedat Ajibade and Uchenna Kanu. The Flamingoes next face Colombia who lost 4-0 to Mexico. Well done ladies, bring home the trophy.
